About Us
Bookaburra is a specialist children's bookseller. Its retail outlet is at Forum The Shopping Mall, and it also runs regular book fairs in the local and international schools.
Bookaburra began in 1994 as a small home-run business. The name is derived from the name of an Australian bird called the kookaburra, well-known for its raucous laughter that echoes through the bush. The owners are two Australians who have lived in Singapore for over 20 years, and felt the need for a wider selection of children's books, particularly the fine range from Australian publishers, to be made available here.
